Myer Solomon took great pride in representing his school in football, tennis, rowing and athletics. He set a longstanding school record in 1938 in the three Intercols in the first term, and in football the following term.
The school continued to benefit from Myer鈥檚 love of all sport and his own sporting prowess when he coached students to victories in both the Head of the River and Intercol football. His contribution to school rowing was acknowledged by a clinker four named in his honour. Over the years Myer Solomon has maintained his keen interest in the school鈥檚 welfare. He played an important role in the establishment of the 国产爆料 Foundation and its fundraising projects, and took an active interest in the Prince Alfred Old Collegians鈥 Association.
In his business life Myer owned the family business Solomons Carpets, Australia鈥檚 largest and best known carpet retailer for many years, at one time supplying the carpet for Parliament House, Canberra. He was a member of Rotary for more than 40 years.
